Beginners to Reels Workshop - Wednesday prompt!
Hi there!
How are you getting on with creating Reels? Have you had the chance to create your first Reel yesterday? How did it go? I can’t wait to see what you’ve created!
Let’s dive right into your Wednesday prompt!
Today it’s all about showing up. I know it can be very intimidating to film yourself on camera. That’s why we’re making it very easy this time. Your Reel can be as short as a couple of seconds or up to 60 seconds long if you’re brave enough.
There are cool ways to show up. Here are some suggestions:
Smile and wave. Add music from the Reels library that reflects your mood
Shoot a boomerang (short video loop): (Link zu iPhone Boomerang von Instagram, und Link zu Android Boomerang:
Sit in the passenger seat of the car (while someone else is driving) and film yourself in the outside rearview mirror. Then the focus is not only on you but also on the fun perspective and possibly the landscape.
Follow a Reels trend and put your own spin on it (if that’s your thing). Find inspiration on Instagram Reels!
If you want to talk in front of the camera: Answer the question that most people ask about your business. Add captions or subtitles to underline what you’ve said.
Film yourself on your bike (but be careful☺)
Mount your phone on a tripod and walk across the frame
These are just some suggestions and inspiration to get you started, the list is endless! If you can, add music, possibly some titles, and spice it up with a filter.
If you’re unsure about the process, send me an email: reels@lichtspiel-videos.com
Are you ready to create your own Reel?
This is what you need:
Your smartphone camera, ideally on selfie mode so that you have more control over the image and the frame.
Here’s what you need to keep in mind:
Come up with a couple of ideas that you could potentially film. Having those in mind makes it easier to find the right moment to just start.
Don’t overthink it!
When you’ve finished recording, head over to Instagram Reels and select the video from the camera roll. Another option is to shoot directly in Reels. Just hit the record button.
We want to create a feeling, a mood, an emotion. Pick music that emphasizes the feeling you are going for. Add a filter to give the video your own spin. The interesting thing about Reels is that you can create a video as short as 5 seconds, but still convey your message and actually move your audience. Try it out and see what works for you.
