Behind the scenes with Zsuzsanna Fédak

Zsuzsanna: “The process of creating a branding video was fun and interesting.  At our first meeting Bea and I worked through our ideas, agreed on the important elements to be captured in the video and quickly put the framework together.  Bea had so many great ideas; I was particularly excited by her idea to include some super cool drone footage.

In order to capture the different sides of my photography we decided to shoot in two locations .  We felt that a city scene with the shops, coffee shops and typical African street vendors and my favorite park, where I do the majority of my outdoor photo shoots, would provide a good contrast.  We only needed one morning and one afternoon to shoot enough for a 3 minute video, which we eventually cut to just over a minute .

The video shoot was great fun!  Bea and I like to observe moments happening around us and incorporate them into our story. It was important to me that my video had a natural, unstaged vibe.  Bea shadowed me on my day in town and at the park and was able to capture simple moments such as window shopping, enjoying a coffee, working on a photo shoot, and turn them into art.

I was delighted with the end product, not only had Bea captured what I had wanted to show the world perfectly but she had also found the most fitting sound track to accompany it.

I am so grateful that I met Bea and that I had the opportunity to create my first branding video with her.  The video reflects exactly what I wanted to tell the world about myself and my business. “

Your six week social media marketing strategy in six steps

You know that Social Media is a powerful tool to attract new leads and showcase your work but how do you create a whole campaign around it?

First let’s get clear about what a social media campaign is:

A social media campaign is a coordinated marketing effort to reinforce or assist with a business goal using one or more social media platforms. Campaigns differ from everyday social media efforts because of their increased focus, targeting and measurability. Instead of just posting random pics, videos or blogposts,

here is how we would run a social media campaign:

Step 1/6

Before we get started with posting content, we create your strategy for the online campaign identifying the overall goals of your online campaign that align with your business objectives. Do you want to create awareness, more sales or more engagement of your business? Is it a new product that you’re showcasing, a new dimension of your portfolio? Or do you want to introduce a new team member or structure? What is the main focus of your campaign?

-->This is a tricky task because it will get you thinking. What do I REALLY want to talk about and what will my ideal client want to read about? How can I be helpful and useful? I will help you identify this goal with some great exercises.

This is also the time when we set up your social media platforms to ensure they are working optimally and are set up for your business correctly.

Step 2/6

We define the so-called framework of your campaign i.e., identifying what impact this is going to have on your business, then find out who we are going to target (who is my ideal client etc...?) and providing them with great content.

-->We will carefully work through all steps of your social media framework before we start with the campaign. Later on, it will serve as an agenda and a checklist throughout the campaign to make sure that we stick to our goals.

Step 3/6

Once we have a clear idea of what you want to talk about and to whom, we can define all the pillars of your so called Content Marketing Calendar, defining dates and times of the posts, relevant hashtags, purpose of each every post, activation etc.Having said that, it also needs to allow for some spontaneous engagement.

Step 4/6

Then we will carefully create the content of a six week social media campaign across two platforms. Here we can work in close collaboration with a copywriter, photographer etc.

-->This is the creative part! We can spice it up with videos (which I’m obviously happy to help with!!), fun blogposts, photos, Instagram stories to get more attention.

Step 5/6

During the six weeks we keep a close eye on the successes of the posts and constantly examine our current efforts. What works? What doesn’t? Who is connecting with you on social media? We meet-up online and via zoom meeting on a weekly basis for questions and if need be, to apply changes. Here we can also add promotions to target new clients

Step 6/6

Once our joint online work is finished we start with the most crucial part of the job -  we measure successes, track vanity metrics but also, depending on what we’re aiming at,  the leads generated, web referrals, conversion rate etc. and receive feedback from one another

Depending on the package you choose, this is a one to four months long partnership. Have a look at my website to see packages and prices www.creativelybea.com/add-ons.

Sometimes it's hard for not-yet clients to relate to your business...

Help people engage with your business and introduce yourself with a short Personal Branding Video!

Sometimes it’s hard for not-yet clients to relate to your business, to understand your core ideas and to remember you when there’s so much competition around. A short video introducing you (and your products), and giving a glimpse behind the scenes of your business will help you develop a quick and lasting connection with potential clients.

This is how the procedure would look like:

  •  Firstly, I will be sending you a questionnaire to get a better idea of what and who you would like to showcase, what you’d like to incorporate into the video and what’s really important to you

  • Then we meet- up for a very clear brief about what you want – this will maximize my chances of getting the video right the first time (or very nearly right). This will include discussing the create aspects, the locations, putting together a shot list, specific things you’d like to say, music you’d like to incorporate etc…

  •  The next step is our first filming session. Always remember that I want to capture your real you, so if you usually don’t wear make-up, then don’t! If you’d like to dress-up for the shoot, then do! Your audience will much more likely believe you if you’re being your authentic self.

”Working on a Personal Branding Video also gives you the opportunity to see you and your work through the eyes of your audience”

  •   We can usually fit in one or two locations in one morning. Depending on the amount of locations you would like to incorporate into the video, we can finalize the filming in two to three days. If we need specific lighting for the sessions, we can plan an early morning or later afternoon session as the light is the softest. If we shoot inside then we can use some extra light if necessary.

  •  After the filming sessions are finished you can relax – and I get to work. I trim and edit, incorporate the music and vocals and make the video look just like you want me to. I add as little or many creative aspects from my end as necessary.

  •  I present you my first edit and you give me feedback. And as long as the core message of the video is not significantly changed, we can go through three revisions with no additional costs (i.e. three hours of revising time) in total.

  •  I will send you the final edit in the format of your choosing (this obviously depends on where you would like to post or use the video)

So far I’ve worked with small businesses such as dancers, photographers and a coach with many fun and interesting projects in the making! I’m currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa working for local clients as well as Swiss based clients. Send me a message if you’re keen to learn more!
